Communities Unlimited, Inc. is seeking to fill a position for a Management Consultant serving primarily central and southern Arkansas.  This position is responsible for partnering with entrepreneurs and small business owners to provide consulting covering business management, accounting, financial projections, marketing and other services. These are most often entrepreneurs with limited access to traditional resources and/or  in small communities throughout the Arkansas Delta and in project locations in some of CU’s other states. CU consultants work onsite and virtually, supported by a variety of technology and communication tools. Training in the application of tools and resources used by CU is provided.

CU is a nonprofit community development organization founded in Arkansas in 1976. CU’s mission is to move rural and under-resourced communities in areas of persistent poverty to sustainable prosperity. CU staff  provide a full range of management consulting, technical assistance, financing and training to strengthen communities and small businesses.

We serve the following seven states: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

Rural Community Development / Management Specialist - Texas
Communities Unlimited (CU) Inc., seeks to fill a position for a Development Management Specialist preferably near El Paso or Laredo (El Paso or Webb Counties), Texas.

Primary responsibilities include providing onsite training and technical assistance to rural communities with water or waste disposal problems and needs in the areas of utility management, financial management, administration, or project planning and financing. Prior experience related to this is preferred.

CU’s Environmental staff work primarily in low-income communities with a population under 2,500.  The technical assistance provided by these staff members enables communities to provide a reliable, safe and clean supply of drinking water and a sanitary wastewater disposal system.

CU is a nonprofit community development organization founded in Arkansas in 1976. CU’s mission is to move rural and under-resourced communities in areas of persistent poverty to sustainable prosperity. Communities Unlimited (CU) Inc., seeks to fill a position for a Development Management Specialist based in Starkville, Mississippi.

Primary responsibilities include providing onsite training and technical assistance to rural communities with water or waste disposal problems and needs in the areas of utility management, financial management, administration, or project planning and financing. This position is primarily focused on delivery of technical assistance related to infrastructure and community facilities financing and USDA borrower reporting requirements.  Prior experience related to this is preferred.
